I am still in awe of how bad Brian Kelly was!

I truly believe he thought he could come here and win while having things on cruise control. In a couple of months Lane Kiffin has outworked him compared to the four years he was in charge.

I believe Bk actually coached his first year here and maybe even his second, but after that he was for sure on cruise control. He completely shat the bed on the OC hire after Denbrock left which was a lazy hire to begin with. He may well still be the coach if he would have hired a different OC. In addition, he would have won a NC with the offense he had with Daniels if he would have made a better hire at DC. At the end of the day I am happy it worked out and we now have Kiffin because he will sustain the program for much longer than BK would have, and will hopefully go on a Sabanesk run with multiple national championships and in the playoffs every year.

Brian Kelly assumed LSU would put him on auto-pilot but he had no idea the amount of work it takes to have an SEC program running like a well-oiled machine. The frickface didn't want to recruit or talk to his own recruits.
frick him. Good riddance!

what are you talking about? He hasn't played a game yet. Your drinking the Kool-aid way to early. 8-4 in 2 out of 3 seasons, How will you feel about him then?

I bought into the “Path” propaganda….
Can’t believe I trusted that guy

He got a big pay day while approaching retirement age. He was lazy , and I think that rubbed off on his teams and staff. Notice how his best season was his very first one? After that , his influence was all over the teams and I think that affected them heavily. That's why i'm excited about Kiffen. He's already demonstrated almost bottomless energy and seems to be an incredibly hard worker.

Our recruiting classes were actually pretty solid under him to be fair.

A turd from the northeast is an apt characterization of that individual.

You broke it down perfectly. BK’s staff hires was his downfall here. Stapes as DB coach , Matt house as DC. Joe Sloan as DC, Brad Davis as OL coach. Too many position hire whiffs for someone whose suppose to be a CEO type coach

I think Brian Kelly worked exactly as hard as he is accustomed to working. He was simply in over his head here and in this new era. It takes lunatics to run the show at the major programs. Look at Cignetti, Kirby, Lanning, Kiffin, Ryan Day, even Cristobal. They're all psychotically competitive. Kiffin seems to be averaging 3-4 hours of sleep since he got here, while BK seemed to be getting the doctor prescribed 8-9 every night. He just did not have that psychotic drive in hi time here. Maybe he had it when he was in his heyday at Cincy and Notre Dame, but we did not get that side of him here.

He actually had a great first year, second year with an average defense would have been a national title easy

Nobody should be surprised. Kelly is and was a lazy, sanctimonious a-hole..

Had a good first few years with roster he was left. Wheels fell off since he didnt develop an oline and gave oc job to a qb coach he thought he was getting #1 qb recruit because of.
Where it got worse was when he started acted like it was acceptable to run for 1-3 yards a carry at home, against not just Florida, but cupcake teams. And calling fans spoiled. When you make 10mm and have top 5-7 resources in nation, need to stfu and coach better.

Year 1 we upset the gumps and won the West.
Year 2 we had a Heisman.
Coming into this year I looked at our schedule and thought we were a legit title contender. Hard to believe the wheels came off so quickly.

for the expectations and money he was paid, he was pound for pound the worst LSU football coach in its storied history

I blame the idiotic guaranteed contract.
Gave a retirement age coach, a contract where he gets paid the same win or lose.

the better he sucked, the better (and faster) he got paid.
that's what Landry was pissed about.
