Points per game scored vs allowed
National ranking in parentheses ()
Teams ranked ahead of champion for champs ranked 2 through 5

This only includes games against FBS opponents (no stat-padding allowed)
Looks like you now need to be #1 in this stat to win the championship.

2025 Indiana CFP +27.1 (1)

No Stat padding is an interesting thing to claim when IU played 6 of the bottom 7 teams in the Big 10 including

Purdue 2-10
UCLA 3-9
Maryland 4-8
Michigan State 4-8
Wisconsin 4-8

Yeah. The strength of schedule is the key. No one thinks that 2013 FSU is the best team ever. They just crushed some bad ACC teams at the time.

These people don’t think the SEC is better than the other conferences.

So you have no point with them.

2013 FSU played 5 ranked teams:

25 Maryland (63-0) - finished unranked
3 Clemson (51-14) - finished 8th
7 Miami (41-14) - finished unranked
20 Duke (45-7) - finished #23
2 Auburn (34-31)

I mean, except for Auburn and Boston College they crushed everyone on their schedule but it was a pretty damn weak year in CFB.

So Florida State beat the 2, 8, and 23 ranked teams in 2013.

In 2019 LSU beat the 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 14, 25

who knew that scoring more points than you allow wins games, and doing it more than anyone else results in you winning the most games?
