Probably going to see Sevendust at Walkers Bluff Casino in Carterville, IL. I can’t see how they can have a seating pattern at a show like this. Any experiences seeing good rock bands at a show with seating?

All those big amphitheater shows in the summer are seated shows. Even bands like Pantera and Slipknot do those shows. I have seen AIC and Opeth at seated shows and it wasn't bad though I would prefer to not have seats.

That’s a strange booking for a casino if not even a standing general assembly area in front of the stage.

In my experience, casino shows are terrible.

Bands play truncated shows, the casinos want you to gamble, not listening to music.

Casino shows can be less than the normal live show experience, but if it's a band you want to see, just go.

I bailed on a Roy Clark show because it was at a casino. That was a mistake.

It all depends on the show. I saw Slash with Myles Kennedy years ago at the Paragon right before GnR reformed. The energy at that show was awesome and they killed it even though it was all seated.

Saw Styx at a the Bossier City Live! Casino recently, and it was a very nice facility. Comfortable seats with good leg room and view, and restrooms and bars were nearby. The setlist was the same as what they played at other recent shows.

I've been to other concerts at other casinos, and it is hit or miss. The performances themselves have always been fine, but some audience members can be a distraction if they are not really fans of the band and just wandered in from the slots because they got comped tickets. The non-fans may want to talk and dick around on their phone instead of paying attention to the show, which can be a distraction for the paying fans.
