Are they getting govt subsidies or is it now a profitable travel line?

LA, Alabama & Mississippi contribute $1,000,000 per year for tourism.

The Gubment contributes $7,000,000 per year in operational subsidies. In addition to receiving $158,000,000 for infrastructure improvements to open.

All subsidies approved by the Biden administration in 2022.

Interstates provide much better value.

This is a boondoggle.

It’s lipstick on a pig.

Has anyone here taken it? Curious about the clientele.

You mean similar to USPS and CATS. A gov't organization that is run as a private business but no way it hell it will would ever generate enough revenue from operations to sustain itself!

If interstates followed a similar model charged tolls across the system. They would probably more than pay for themselves.

Once he connects the airport it will drastically change things. He is doing what they never did with the monorail. If he connects downtown, game over. Tin foil hat time, he is practicing for mars or the moon

Sunday will be my 3rd trip. No issues, everyone is thrilled to have the service.

Parking is free in all Mississippi stops. Mobile is $15 daily.

This is great news! One should have plenty of open space around them the one time the wife makes them do this.

My previous 2 trips Amtrak Mardi Gras was sold out. The seats are larger than 1st Class airline seats.

Since operations started, avg daily capacity is running 92%.

During conventions it is highly possible the peak numbers could be extrapolated to this ridership over a day.

The Vegas Loop is just a ride within the convention center. It is a pretty impressive proof of concept though.

Maybe about half of it is. The gas tax doesn't go near as far as some people think

What kind of fares have you gotten?

Thought it was supposed to be @ $15 between NO and Biloxi but haven't seen fares that low.

My Sunday fare BSL to NOL is $19 each way. Cheaper than parking.

Dynamic Pricing is in place. So plan early, Tuesday- Thursday are typically the cheapest days.
