Where to get a decent winter suit in the Lafayette area? Where to get it tailored?

I need to find a new mens suit primarily for the winter months. Easiest locations to get to in person would be around Lafayette but Im not opposed to online sources and will also be in Baton rouge in the near future.

* Budget around $500-600

* Favoring either a lightish grey or less common color like brown or green

* I don't own a 3 piece suit but im open it if its nice.

* Willing to spend $150-200 for good tailoring

* bonus points if the shop specializes in sewing discrete pockets for flasks

I'd appreciate any recommendations

Thanks

Winter weight suit? I would imagine a regular 120s suit would be fine

Getting it specifically for winter, mainly a special occasion thing

I was thinking about 120s but starting to like 160s-180s

Didn't think so. Just like Goudchaux's in BR. All the nice local department stores are kaput!

Could get one for $700-ish with free tailoring, at least that was the case a few years ago.

ETA; and it’s free life time tailoring, so you can bring it back as many times as needed

I thought you were joking. It closed a long time ago. The building was sold and turned into offices. Mr. Tom passed almost a year ago, but Barbara is alive and kicking.

Seriously, don’t buy a “winter suit” for down south. You’re going to suffocate as soon as you walk inside. A standard weight worsted wool suit with a scarf and gloves is plenty for any southern day that hasn’t shut down the roads.

Custom suit shops are suddenly everywhere in Louisiana. What’s behind the surge?

This article mentions the many tailors in Lafayette, BR and Nola that can custom make your suit. Thanks to modern technology one can be measured and suits made in no time.
Bespoke Batiste Is mentioned in article and is in Lafayette.
