Since Zion returned from injury on 12/14

We are 4-8.
In the 4 wins he averaged 24.0 MPG and 12.8 FGA per game with it being the first 4 games he came back. In one of those games (the OT win over Hou), he didn't play the final 13 minutes of the game and scored just 9 points on 9 shots.
In the 8 losses (about to be 9 with the Hawks currently pushing our shite in), he has averaged 28.3 MPG and 15 FGA per game.
If it wasn't painfully obvious already, and to some on here it clearly isn't, he is not conducive to winning games as the focal point of an offense.
On top of all that, despite this being one of the healthiest stretches he has had in a Pels uniform, it's clear his conditioning still isn't where it needs to be. Of the last 12 games since his return, only twice has he been able to eclipse 30 or more minutes on the floor.

I don’t really see many (if any) people on here who think Zion is a true number one or someone we can build around. But thanks for pointing out the obvious every 15 minutes.

Nah, I just always find it amusing the need for some people to win the message board. Next you’ll probably give us some brilliant insight that Poole
Is a losing basketball player. Think how smart you would look to the board if you did that.

You mean like you're trying to do right now?

Zion coming off the bench was really effective. But yeah let’s change that

So should we blame the rest of team for production drops?

Of course, but considering what Zion was supposed to be and what we're paying him, he shoulders the most blame.

So Zion playing 30 minutes averaging damn near 30ppg and shooting almost 65% fg and you saying zion is the problem. Man please. When he’s not playing trade him when he’s playing and contributing trade him. Sad

Thanks for proving my point that there are still idiots out there who can’t quit Zion.

Yes, bc Zion dominating the ball is bad for ball movement and other players getting rhythm. He's also so poor defensively that our defense is in constant rotation.

I would have thought every person on the planet was done with Zion but we just had a thread about who should stay or go and numerous people, longtime posters, said keep Zion. I agree it gets brought up every 15 minutes but it's even more baffling that there are actual Pelicans fans that think she should keep Zion.

It's like Zion has set out to be the most useless star player of a team ever. A 6'6 PF who's a bad defender awful rebounder below average handles refuse to shot outside of the restricted area and the only thing he is great at is getting to the rim and making a contested layup that ends up with him on the floor making the floor out of balance on the other end. And let's add the fact that he is always injured and you get all of this for the low low price of $40 million a year

Since Herb Jones got hurt after the 5 game win streak…0-9
And the one game he’s played in since then went down to the wire.
We don’t have a defense without Herb Jones and no one can shoot except TM3.
That’s why we’re losing.
ETA: I’d be remiss if I didn’t add Jordan Poole’s ABYSMAL play too.

Is it keep Zion at all costs and to be the “face of the franchise” (which would be baffling) or don’t give him away for 30 cents on the dollar like we did Ingram (which at least has some merit)?

It's acknowledging that Zion on our roster is a net negative.
