Despite the best efforts of some in the media to cancel Sydney Sweeney (they made a big deal about her boxer biopic "Christy" flopping), her latest film with co-star Amanda Seyfried turned out to be a box office success. Against a reported budget of $35 million, the psychological thriller starring America's favorite busty blonde is set to finish its box office run with around $250 million worldwide. It is Lionsgate's most profitable film in years and now they want to make a sequel.

Wasn't there some people on here recently saying that Sweeney was a box office bomb?

She had few duds in a row. Her fame far outpaces her acting successes. Anyone but you was a legit hit but nothing else she's done was as big as her fame until this.

She was pretty good in the Netflix movie Eden, based on a true story of some people that settled on an uninhabited island in the Galapagos.

This random movie made money you say? Wonder what the appeal was.

It's a popular book series with the ladies so it's not that surprising it did well. I wouldn't say this is indicative of her future success though. She's only popular for obvious reasons. She'll get the eye candy roles until her looks fade.

I enjoyed the movie. As did my wife…. Likely for a few of the same reasons as well as some different reasons
