People on here think the Portal period works like NFL or NBA Free Agency

They are so used to those windows where as soon as it opens its fast and furious with signings.
Maybe the CFB will evolve to that, but that has not been the case the past 2-3 year when the portal era really started. Its like this every year, pretty slow and guys sign over the course of several weeks.

Not only that, but players can sign with new schools after the main transfer portal window closes on January 16, if their name was already in the portal. The window is for entering the portal, not for committing, and players can take their time to choose a school.

What people really don’t seem to understand is the window is just for players to enter their name, not to sign. People who keep saying Kiffin has 11 days to sign these players are clueless.

People SHOULD be “clueless” about portal, NIL, recruiting right now.
It’s a dumpster fire, it changes every year, and the “rules” around who can talk to players/coaches and when they can do it are not seriously enforced.
I’m confused. I admit it. I’m not clueless, it’s just a completely chaotic situation.
