So, the drug boats were a smokescreen ...

Kudos to the Trump administration.
US assets were not moved to the coast of Venezuela to splash cocaine-running speedboats, and Trump never actually believed that those boats were running "fentanyl." That was all a smokescreen for positioning the military assets necessary for the raid that captured Maduro.
The legality of splashing those boats may still be questionable, but it was a DAMNED clever maneuver. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea and kudos to Trump for approving it.
Even more impressive is the fact that Trump HAD to have been told that he would be attacked regarding the legality of splashing those boats, and he chose to absorb those attacks to provide cover for the real mission. He is so thin-skinned, I would not have thought he would have agreed to anything like that, but he did. Double kudos to him for that.

They had to have known it was a possibility. I think what they dramatically underestimated was the speed with which it was carried out. Not realizing that Trump could get in and get it done in 4 hours, I'm thinking they thought he wouldn't do it because the optics would have been far too bad otherwise. They were thinking that if the US pulled anything it would be a drawn out affair and the public would reject it. Instead, it was done while everyone was sleeping and finished before they woke up.
It makes it really hard to make a logical argument against it considering the left themselves were calling the dude a maniacal dictator just a few years ago.

I think the OP is a plausible assessment, and if true, it is heartening that Trump has finally taken the gloves off and fighting fire with fire. He knows that the Globalist UN will jump in and further that a Maduro (Socialist just like Mamdani) trial in NY will flame the Progs and go nowhere as the Dem corrupt Judiciary will do what they always do. So, what does a seemingly losing strategy in this likely scenario now indicate re the gloves-off Trump?
Per the OP’s narrative it means that Trump is setting the table to diss the UN and the Judges. It is common knowledge on the Right that BOTH of these political entities are the drivers and last defenders of Globalist hegemony in this Nation and that both must be neutered to reestablish and reassert US National sovereignty, I.e “MAGA/America First “.
In my opinion there is no way that Trump will allow another “rigged election “. Pure and simple no way. Not even with the Muh No Evidence TDS crowd sky screaming Muh Dictator and Racist. The argumentative power blatant corruption deniers will be ignored just like in this Forum and it will then be their choice to go to the streets just like Trump’s first administration. Where the Military will be waiting. Insurrection and insurgency is in the mail. After the last 8 years of gloves off corruption by the Dems and their passive aggressive reaction to Charlie Kirk’s political assassination, Trump has gone all in and there is no chance of going back or losing. Note CBS changing their partisan tune and imagine what has been spoken ‘off the record’ in a back room dialogue like that in this Forum. They have been told straight up that the fake narrative game is over and real (Civil) war is on against “fundamental change “ in America.
The Dems went too far; they should have just waited, played by the rules and let AI job losses be the impetus for fundamental change to a quasi-Socialist economy. They pulled a ‘Saddam Hussein’ and jumped the invasion gun…and the shark. That open Border and MASSIVE (fraudulent) Subsidies was the last straw. Deportation is coming big time.
This year is going to be very explosive. Like that Thread about the Earth’s polarity going off. I do not know if the above is true and will happen and I sure as hell don’t welcome it. I hope the Left will pull back, come to the honest VOTER ID table and let the citizens who worked hard and died to build and defend this Nation decide its fate. But I know the history of Marxist revolution. So I’m mentally preparing for the worst.
