living in Sydney

Just got back from an awesome time in Sydney and now I'd like to live and work there for a spell. Anyone had that opportunity?

I'd do some research on COVID and similar government actions in Australia. The social justice/stolen land thing is omnipresent and apparently overwhelming. Had a close friend get relocated to Australia (Perth) after COVID, and his wife pulled the plug about 90 days in due to the societal crap. They'd lived in Alaska for a few years, TX, LA, and she's about as normal as they come.
It may or may not bother you, and I would totally do a year in the mines or rigs FIFO if my kids were in college. But I wouldn't relocate there.

Covid was 6 years ago. But thanks!

My BIL is from Australia. The cost of living is astronomical. Three bedroom house in Sydney is stupid expensive so most people rent. I would love to visit but I am not sure it is worth living there. The entire country is like that.

I lived and worked in Melbourne for a year. Quite possibly my best one yet and I’ve had some good ones.
Go for it and don’t glance back

Nothing normal in that Trifecta.

This. One of my favorite places in the world to visit, not sure I would live there.
Unless I had a metric shite ton of money.
A friend of mine actually tried this about a year ago. After about 90 days decided to backpack through Asia because living in aus wasn’t all it was cracked up to be

Ok, you didn't get the point about the ways government there will interfere with your life for no discernable reason\, that is inconceivable to most Americans. This extends to schools, supermarkets, and all sorts of other things. They moved there *after* COVID. This isn't Poli, so I'm not going to link or bring the stuff up, but you can research it, or not. Thanks for playing.

Alrighty, well, I just got back from there and didn’t witness anything of what you speak. But to each his own.

Feel the same way after going there. Would love to live in Australia.
ETA: Expect the low IQ comments you are already seeing on this site. I visited Melbourne and Sydney, all positive experiences. Facts over fear.
