Stop reacting to the claims of 'racism' and oppression. They don't exist in the West outside of government.

It has nothing to do with race. This type of fraud and corruption is rampant in Somolia. It’s purely cultural.

It’s similar to Sicilian Cosa Nostra, which followed Italian immigrants to the US. Or refugees from El Salvador in California in the 80’s who formed MS13 to defend themselves against old country drug vendettas.

I think the Trump administration's approach to this, politically, was bungled badly. The fraud within the Somali community is undeniable and it was already being investigated and prosecuted on multiple fronts — covid Feeding the Future fraud, medicaid, medicare, etc. — under the previous Biden administration. Dozens of convictions had already occurred and more were to come. The approach from the Trump admin should have been this:
"We all know there is fraud in Minnesota and that a majority of that fraud is in the Somali community. We are pursuing the current active investigations that began under the Biden administration, and we are fully dedicated to continuing the good work put in by that administration. We intend to expand on that work and root out fraud wherever it may thrive. Again, we thank the prior administration for it's hard work and we look forward to continuing that work into the new year in effort to bring justice to the American people."

That would have majorly disarmed the Democrat response and taken away the emotional pleas we are seeing now that attempt to frame this as a Trump/Republican witch hunt without merit. It would have established that this fraud is not new and that there is already a history of investigation and prosecution by the very people now using this issue as a political stick to beat their opponents.
