Walker was easily the best hitter. Furniss was the better power hitter.

furniss holds a shite load of records in the sec, but t walker is my favorite

Walker, Furniss, Dean. Walker was an all time college great, and as a matter of fact was on the 50th anniversary CWS all time team at Second base. But Furniss was also a great great Hitter here also, with great power and RBI numbers, and a huge part of back to back CWS Championship teams. And I have said in the last year that Dean is in the mold of these type of players. He is incredibly clutch, and he is a huge part of LSU getting back to the top of College Baseball world again. No knock at all on Dean, it's just that you compared him to 2 of the all time best here! Also Dean has 1 year left to add to his legacy. All 3 are great players here!

Walker it's not really close. The dude was a machine.

Walker overall, Furniss with the power.
Dean would have to have a MONSTER year to come close to those two.

Walker, easily
if you dont think Walker, then you obviously werent old enough to watch him firsthand.
Furniss holds a lot of records, and was awesome, but he played a few seasons in the live bat era and was at LSU for 4 years.
Dean has 1 great season. He needs to do it again to even be mentioned with these guys

Furniss easily
dude had so much more power, you can claim that it was the bats but he still has the records
don't take away what he did because of a NCAA rule (or lack thereof)
at least it was legal, some records exist that were (arguably) achieved illegally
i.e. barry bonds+steriods, he still broke the record though

Walker is the better hitter. Joey Belle was pretty good too. If Larson would have played at least three years, we'd be talking about him as well.

Walker was the best college hitter I ever saw. And he was money when it counted.

Todd Walker was one of the greatest in LSU history.

You have to take it into account when u talk about guys from 2 different "eras"
Im not taking anything away from him. His numbers were great too. He hold a lot of records. But he compiled them over 4 years and with the loaded bats.
Walker was better though . Only here 3 years. Was a 2 time all american.
Both were great. Im not taking anything away from Furniss.
