Outboard motor help

I've got a 2018 Mercury 30 HP EFI 4-Stroke. For the last couple of weeks, I have to open the throttle to get it to start. Then I have to run it for a bit before I quick-shift it to neutral then forward. It runs great, and after it is really warm, it idles well. Any ideas what the issue is?

Check out The Yards in Ponte Vedra. Played it as a warm-up for our bigger ticket courses.
It was extremely fun and in great shape. Several pros practice there before The Masters because of the quality and structure of the greens. It is a 9-hole track with a side course of 6 par threes. You won’t regret it.

Several years ago, 5 or 6, I read an editorial in The Advocate about a family that moved back to Louisiana from what had been a happy life somewhere in the Washington DC area I think. The thrust of the article was that even though there are upsides to a life elsewhere, there is nothing quite like home with old friends, LSU, crawfish, etc.
My wife would like to use that article for a class project on the idea of “community” in her high school English class next year. I am having trouble recalling the author, the title, or finding the article. Anyone out there recall what I am talking about?
