How the hell would these tariffs impact cost of living?

Giving the manufacturers a chance to on-shore production back to the USA.

I would guess importers are passing the tariff cost to the consumer

My bribe helped!
Our pricing for cabinets were rising 21% today.
Thanks DJT.

I don’t agree with this one as it allows shitty import cabinets in to big box stores hurting private business.

Exactly. Of course I and mine would not ever buy cabinets from a big box store. EVER!!

Hint, it isn't the other countries

Actually that’s exactly what’s been happening. Some of you don’t understand market share and how important that is to these foreign manufacturers. They have largely been eating the tariffs to maintain market dominance. The more luxury and specialty brands are the ones I have seen that are passing on more of the tariffs to the consumer.

I was told by this board tariffs aren’t causing price increases.

But they absolutely are. American manufacturers have had to raise prices because of tariffs.

I learned on this board that tariffs dont affect prices, were they wrong?

Except they aren’t. Inflation has been consistently down since the tariffs went into effect.

Rate of inflation has slowed but prices are still high and increased on some goods.

Trump’s admitting it with the pause. I know most of the deep throaters wont admit it ever.
