10 year old hit by car while riding bicycle across Jefferson Hwy

My niece was driving behind the car that hit a 10 year old late this evening on Jefferson Hwy. Her dash cam caught the incident and she provided it to BRPD. I know many are going to ask for me to post video but I don’t feel it’s appropriate at this time. I haven’t heard condition of kid but it didn’t look good. News doesn’t have anything posted yet it doesn’t appear.

Ten year old?
I grew up off Jefferson when it was a two lane Hwy, and didn’t dare cross that road by myself at ten years old.

So a 10 year old just rode into the road after dark? Where were the parents? So avoidable

The kid came from the opposite side from the Big Squeezy. He made it across the center lane and the grey Camry was in the left lane and my niece right behind them. Kid demolished the right side of the windshield and landed in the right lane.

I feel bad for the driver, having to live with this when they had no fault in it.
I mean who raises a 10 year old they let out on a bike, in the dark, not in a neighborhood but across a major, poorly lit multi lane highway? Just utter disregard for...everything. Senseless and stupid. A tragedy all around, and innocent people pay for it.
