That LSU hasn't had a really solid defense since 2019.

This defense is solid. The offense isn't scoring 150 points a game like 19 team did.

We’ve lost that grit. Lost that dog. Lost the edge.

You can argue if you want, but the 2025 defense might be better than the 2019 defense.

2019 defense was not good but was masked by explosive offense.

This defense was solid…but we are missing most of the studs.

2025 defense was absolutely not better than the 2019 defense. 2019 had way more athleticism, depth, and versatility on the second level.
Patrick Queen, Damone Clark, Jacob Philips, Jacoby Stevens, Chaisson, Mike Divinity, Baskerville, Andre Anthony and even Marcel Brooks to a lesser extent. Delane and Haulcy are great players, but they aren’t better than Stingley and Delpit. Up front, Rashard Lawrence was a better college player than anyone on our line in 2025. Ika is also an nfl player. Also Fulton, Jay Ward, Kary Vincent, and Flott who is a really solid NFL corner.

2019 had more talent by a wide margin.

Aranda is also a better coach than Baker.

All of that is great. What about statically? Like which team gave up fewer points?
