So the ATF started the pause today for processing them. Any guesses on the wait times now?

Also in article below it references “erasing” submissions from the 26-1

Any advice on buying before the 1st? Do it/dont/wait?

$200 is worth a 5 day turnaround after the blackout.

I called one local well known place today (26th) and though they were technically still able to submit it as the deadline was midnight, they said they weren’t taking any orders. Sigh.

My understanding is that you can't submit, or if you do, they won't process any from now until they come back up after the 1st. They want a clean slate to start the new system.

I've read that SilencerShop has 100k apps waiting to submit. Talked to the LGS guy the other day while helping a buddy get his first can and he mentioned the Dead Air rep mentioned they knew of 10k for just them.

I think it will create quite the backlog as its not just the form 4's they have to process, but if people bought one and didn't transfer it prior to the new year there will be a crap ton of Form 3's to process and get cans moving from dealer to dealer.

I’m one of those 10k. Hopefully these tards don’t go back to 12 to 13 months. There shouldn’t even be a stamp and you should be able to walk in and buy one.

Can't really answer your question, I just wanted to chime in that Silencer Shop absolutely screwed me to death on a recent purchase. I've bought a few before from them without issue but this time it has taken 2+ weeks and counting for them to ship two I bought, $2400+. I bought back on the 10th to beat the after the Jan 1st backlog that is sure to hit, so here I sit empty handed after paying for the stamps for nothing. I've called them about 50 times in the last week and half, those calls resulted in me actually talking to someone 3 times. Twice I was supposed to get returned calls that I never received, they updated my order status this morning to they have shipped and check with my dealer but they haven't received them yet, and the deadline of the 26th is here and gone. I hate freaking terrible customer service, I'll be going another route from now on.

That isn't surprising to me at all. They take a while with Form 3's. I've also noticed that my buddy who uses them and has them shipped to a LGS always take a few days to certify after submitting his Form 4. I always buy from random shop on the internet and have it sent to the same LGS. When I submit I'm certified before I walk out of the door.

What do you think 100s of thousands of backlogged applications do to a filing system because you wanted to avoid $200? The wait times will be back to 12-18 mo, easily.

I almost exclusively use Silencer Shop due to the kiosk. It’s never been longer than about a week total, from purchase online to walking out the local FFL with can in hand.

This has been my experience this year as well, I guess they were overwhelmed this month. They seen this coming at some in early December, at that point they should stop sending out the daily marketing emails saying buy now to beat the rush after the first of the year. The last guy I talked to claimed the ones who bought the stamps will be at the front of the line when they start reviewing them again but who knows at this point. Personally I think they need to refund the cost of the stamps due to them not delivering in time to be reviewed before the 26th as they said would happen.

Nah. E files that get computer approved will still happen pretty quickly IMO.

If you get sent to agent review, yeaaaa its gonna be a while.

The last 2 or 3 that I bought all took silencer shop around 2 weeks to get the paperwork ready to be filed. Once it was filed it went through in 2-4 days.

I imagine silencer shop has been backlogged with orders and that 2-3 weeks increased.

You’re mad a a company trying to sell products? Seems you waited a little too long.

I figured Ive waited 55 years to apply for one.

Waiting a couple more months won't hurt me.

Mine was 19 days from the time I purchased to pick up. I did the hold on my next one so it will be interesting to see what the time difference is.

No, the shop could still have processed my order yesterday according to the article linked, but said they could not because of the ATF.

My understanding was that the shop had until midnight to process it.

I was just trying to understand if that was true or not.

The ATF email is down as well. I’m approved. I’ve been waiting on them to email the paperwork including the SS Trust since 12/11/25

I probably should have paid the $200 but now y’all get to hear me bitch about it for the next 12 months

Once everything gets back to normal I’ll probably buy a couple more then be done for a while.
