Didn't realize Kathleen Kennedy was involved with this master piece, luckily she had Lucs to stop her from ruining it.

I learned about Reeses Pieces from this movie and it's my only go to candy when I have the urge.e.e.

Wait until you find out she was involved with Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Goonies, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, etc.

She co-founded Amblin with Steven Spielberg.

Yep, she sucked (literally penis) her way all the way to the top. She was also a great personal assistant and numbers crunching payroll manager.

It's stunning to me that people only know her for Disney Star wars. She was hand picked by Lucas to take over the franchise. She was one of the biggest producers in the modern history of Hollywood.

But turns out, her husband, Frank Marshall, and that guy named Steve Spielberg actually did all the heavy lifting for all those projects and Kennedy was Basically a just gloriford Gofer.

just watched the remastered 4K Close Encounters with my 11yo boy and was reminded how much better of a movie this was than ET. Damn great movie. the scene with the red sky and the boy being drug though the cat door freaked my son out big time

Still had that "Jaws"/"Duel" edge to it before speilberg decided to make junk food family movies.

I watched it yesterday. I guess Spielberg took fan reaction to heart, because the guns weren't CGI'd to walkie-talkies in the version I saw.

Maybe Kathy was the one who came up with the fortunately scrapped romance between the mom and ET. Spielberg has famously said that KK always interrupted meetings to pitch her shitty ideas.

You would think that some of the story telling would have rubbed off
