I’ll admit while watching that scene earlier this evening I choked back tears. Really a great film.

Just finished my Christmas Eve viewing.

Also watched a streamer reacting to it. She loved it but was not happy Potter got away with the 8k.

Maybe not the Christmas spirit but..... Imagine a universe where Potter didn't get away with it.

Sure does. Of course you tear up at the end when George realizes his treasure was his friends, but when Mary says this (a life with George) is what she wished for with tears in her eyes.

The most unbelievable thing was that Mary would have ended up being a spinster librarian, having never married. But they had to find a way to work her into the story somehow.

Emotional moments in the movie:

Young George hugging mr gower
George telling his dad is a great guy
George 5000 dollar speech to Mr potter
George loaning his money during the bank run
Mary this is what I wished for
George hugging his son
George smashing his Miniature models
Mr Potter’s you’re worth more dead
George prays at the bar
Ending scene

I may be missing a few more.

What makes this move so great is that even when you watch it for the 10th time and know what’s coming at each scene, you still get emotional and fight back tears.

George Bailey is all of us. We all had dreams and maybe we got to experience some of them but eventually life happens to us all. You get caught in the grind and the weight of our responsibilities and you have so many days you wonder what is it all for or are you making an impact or just going through the motions. It's so easy to lose sight of the blessings we experience everyday that can get taken for granted. This movie is a great annual reminder of those things and a chance to reset and take stock heading into a New year of possibilities. God bless you all my brothers

I hear they're remaking it. For, ya know, modern audiences.

I was sniffling when Clarence's voice breaks up saying this.

Was watching with my 90 year old mom. Thought I'd gotten away with her not knowing I shed a tear. When it was over I went to the bathroom and saw my shirt had spots where tears fell on it.

I always think I didn't do enough. I haven't done enough. Hope I'm not too old to do something good for someone.

Watching It's a Wonderful Life is a tradition on Christmas Eve for me and my wife for a lot of years. The older I get, the better the movie gets. A lot of husbands and fathers see themselves in George Bailey. I've seen it dozens of times and it hits me hard every time.
