Through passing on, or just leaving and moving away from your life.

You probably miss them, but maybe you also miss the younger you that was with them at that past Christmas. A time gone.

The slight undercurrent of sadness is what makes this such a compelling holiday.

My grandmother was the only thing holding that side of the family together

Once she passed it all kinda fell apart

She was an incredible woman. I miss her.

My guess is 3-4 times a week judging from "weagle'ite" topics.

My aunt was the glue. She passed in 2018. When visiting everybody tried to be as civil as possible, out of respect for her. Now, half of the people don’t even talk to each other.

2016 flood and subsequent circumstances woke me up to my family’s true selves. Peaced out.

Grandfather. We been lost since. Family never gets together really. Then it's kind of awkward. Nobody really commits to ever showing up.

Both my mom and dad. Mom passed in 2020, and dad just 18 months later. in 2022 Mom did all of the cooking, but my sister and I have taken it over seamlessly. It's still not the same. Dad was very traditional, just paid the bills, disciplined, and got fed...but we still miss him as much as mom. The key for us has just been to try to keep the traditions alive and remember the reason for the season.

Mainly my parents who passed away six weeks apart 13 years ago. Christmas has not been the same since then.
