And just as the Santa Ana winds are picking up and New Year’s illegal fireworks will be burning the night sky.

Good timing, Comrade Bass.

Enjoy Ghana by the way.

Almost like it was planned. Wonder where the wildfire will be this year? Wonder what piece of property they want to acquire.

Wildfire damage relief is one of California's favorite pathways for laundering public funds back to the politicians who are in charge of distributing them.

On the plus side, the fricktons of red tape in rebuilding means there's not a lot left to burn if another fire sparks up.

This is what happens when there's no responsibility.

If the place burns down again Bass and Newsome will just shrug their shoulders like so what.

If you built back in that area without some commitments from the city on fire protection, I really have no sympathy for you. How stupid?

Commitments? They can’t even get permits to clear their own property.

They shouldn't build back in those areas, at least to anything more than half the density. There are too many people with neighborhoods built in places that are most susceptible and laid out in the worst possible way for a fire like we saw back in January.

The reality is that the only thing stopping that fire was the Pacific Ocean. They could have had unlimited water readily available and it would have still burned.

You have super high population densities in one of the most fire prone environments on the planet. Some people need to make some tough decisions.

The Palisades has been cleared but for 11 properties that the town/city has been unable to get owners to arrange for clearing.
