The Truth About Rhodesia (YouTube)

And it is pretty scary how much the downfall mirrors so much of what America has experienced under liberal progressive leaders like Obama and Biden. It is like 17 mins long, but worth the watch to get a surface level understanding of what happened to a prosperous nation torn down, almost immediately, solely because of black racists. If you go to around the 10:20 mark there is a quote that sums it up pretty well:

"Yet the debate had moved beyond logic. Emotional appeals rooted in moral outrage, rather than realpolitik, drove international opinion."

That country was once the breadbasket of Africa. An island of prosperity in an otherwise failed continent.

I highly recommend reading "When a Crocodile Eats the Sun" by Peter Godwin. It's a fantastic account of what happened to Rhodesia.

Thank you. Sounds like a great last minute gift suggestion I need to make to my wife.

I feel like Rhodesia had it better than us because they were allowed to fight back and defend themselves

In America if you try to defend yourself you go to jail. Look at the porch pirate shooter

I've loaned my book out to several people and they all loved it.

It was a great read.

There is a "book 1" to that called Mukiwa that is the writer when he was a boy.
