What’s your favorite out of conference road football game experience?

For me it was 2015 at Syracuse. Great weather with a quaint downtown area for pregame activities.
Fournette had a career high 244 yards. Deion Jones had a great interception.
Beautiful area in upstate New York too.
Enjoyed it very much.

I've only ever been to Arkansas, in little Rock, and Miss State. So my away game experience to pull from is weak. There is better high school stadiums than in little Rock, and the cowboys are annoying as shite.
Arkansas kicked our arse, it was freezing cold. We almost lost to a crap MSU team but Chad Jones saved us batting down the go ahead score. So I guess I'll say MSU out of the two.

I was at the 1989 Alabama @ Penn State game w my Alabama portion of the family.
Alabama won 17-16 on a blocked fg.
Fans were great.

Syracuse would be my #1 as well just because there aren't many on-campus, OOC games to choose from. Off the top of my head, all I can think of is West Virginia, Washington, and Texas. Texas was a huge win, but the experience wasn't great. The stadium was just ok and the weather was fricking awful. I didn't go to the other two. ETA: Forgot about UCLA. I wasn't there either.
I'll throw out another just to add to the list; Wisconsin in Green Bay. Even though we lost, it was a great trip. We spent a couple of nights in Chicago then got to experience a historic field for the game.

USC in Vegas was a blast even though LSU lost
I want the opener to be in Vegas every year.

I was at the Texas game in 2019. How was the weather awful?

Their campus 0 trees (at least the areas we were). It was one of the hottest tailgates that I can remember. In the afternoon, as the sun went down, I remember the crowd creeping further and further into the tent. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary for the south in September, but compared to the extremely nice day that I experienced in Syracuse, the difference was stark.
ETA: The older I get, the more the weather seems to impact my opinion of events. The 11 game at Jerryworld against Oregon was my first game after graduating from grad school. I remember nothing but great things about the tailgate and game. Looking back at pictures, it was clear that it was hot as hell that day.

Going way back, but 2002 at Florida. We were not favored to win, but Saban led us to a big win over Ron Zook's gators. Such a fun game.

2019 Texas. Living in the hill country, I'd been to a bunch of Texas games. That was the best DKR had been since the 2010 aTm game.
The end of the 2015 season was disappointing, and everyone is shitting on going to the Texas bowl, but it was fun watching Mahomes against that defense. TX Tech fans were cool, and the flying tortilla buttholes were funny.

A road game for both teams, but the 2011 Jerry’s World abuse of the Ducks was so gratifying.

I did UCLA in 2021, Nola in 2022 for FSU, & Vegas for USC in 2024.
All losses, but I’d have to say UCLA was best bc of LA & Rose Bowl.
I hope they keep the future games with Arizona State in Tempe & Utah. Feel like Utah might be the best one yet
