Resettling folks in Jawja

This is such a contrast from immigration at the turn of the 20th century where immigrants came with nothing and were given nothing upon arrival. It acted as a natural selection for those who had confidence in themselves, work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Those immigrants just wanted a chance to reach what they thought was their potential.

Compare to now where we entice the lazy freeloaders with promises of free this and free that.

Did I say all of them were like that? But when you promise freebies then you are going to attract a higher percentage of people who are here for the free gibs and not simply for the opportunity.

We did until a little over a year ago. The wife and I bailed on Gwinnett County and moved way out to west Georgia near Buchanan. It's a hell of a lot more peaceful in Haralson County near the Alabama state line. Things are rather rural, a bit more relaxed, and, despite the local Wal-Mart closing down thirty minutes after sunset, we like it much better.
