Why can Christmas music on the radio be so irritating?

I have a favorable opinion of Christmas and Christmas is cool, but when I'm flipping through the radio and hear Christmas music on 3 stations in a row it makes me feel grinchy and irritated.

I know it's not rational, and it irritates me way more than something so trivial should. But we all have free will, which is why next December I'm going full OT Baller and buying the Sirus XM Platinum package for one month and everything will be okay again.

But even then I won't full understand why so much Christmas music on the radio pisses me off way more than it should.

I guess because you've heard the songs so many times that your brain cant take it anymore.

Doesn't bother me at all really.

Zero bothers here. I enjoy it, if you don't like, there's plenty of other options these days.

Bc you're poor and you don’t have any friends or family so Christmas makes you angry.

It’s because Christmas songs played on the radio are overplayed like Mariah Carey and, mostly, just not pleasing to listen to.

I have a playlist of eclectic and obscure songs, as well as traditional songs by artists NOT heard on the radio 24/7.

Always looking to add, here’s a thread with good ideas.

Favorite obscure Christmas songs 2025

Christmas songs on the radio are the same 5 or 6 songs sung by different artists.

Doesn’t bother me but it might be because some stations start playing Christmas music before Halloween.

It wouldn't be quite as irritating if they wouldn't start playing it the day after Halloween. Ridiculous

It drove me insane hear jingle bells 25 times a shift
