Would love to bring this kid back home. He's the perfect gadget player for Lane’s offense. Florida State hardly used him. I know he's kicking himself for leaving Indiana. He was a 1st Team All-American return man as a freshman. With Zavion and Anderson leaving, and Watkins jumping in the portal, this would be a good pick up.

Jelani Watkins, and it doesn't hurt to have at least two guys who can play that role. Also, he still doubles as one of the best kickoff returners in CFB.

27 rushes for 160 and no TDs as a 4th yr player at FSU is not the perfect gadget player. He peaked as a freshman.

He didn't peak. FSU didn't use him. Same reason why Barrion Brown looked like a much better player on a shitty Kentucky squad than here at LSU

You do realize we have 2 running backs right now in Durham and Berry. One is injury prone. You absolutely HAVE to take a minimum of 2 backs in the portal after we are losing 2.

The new 105 scholarship limit makes me ok with taking a guy like Jaylin Lucas even if his only asset is returning kickoffs/punts and playing on special teams.

Absolutely
And Lucas is a kick returner. Not a running back.

I’m always up in the air about this way of thinking. Our state has great talent, but alot of people on here say “gotta get the Louisiana kid” and have no idea if he’s good. I don’t care where anyone is from as long as they can play

Plays a part into the culture of the team. Also watched some film on him and there is potential.

Well, Louisiana Kids know what it is like to play like a Tiger. When we get dem portal guys they come in here with that team they came from mentality. Recruited prospects come in from HS developed through our system into that Tigers mentality. That's why 3 star prospects from the Boot show better than some of the 4 and 5 star prospects. So when there's a prospect from the Boot in the portal at a position of need you get him.
