since the coliseum will be used for track and field.
UCLA wants out of the rose bowl.
Would not be shocked if UCLA and USC end up playing all games at Sofi

You are likely to have all 4 teams playing at SoFi at once.
Basically impossible for USC to have the Coliseum ready when the Paralympics end last weekend in August and they are going to be building major columns into the field to support the track.

You can't do that. The four teams would get in each other's way.

No impact. They hardly get fans at games now so no worries moving

The Mets, Yankees, football Giants and Jets all played home games at Shea Stadium in 1975 while Yankee Stadium was being renovated. Giants were waiting for Giants Stadium to be completed in ‘76, same year Yankee Stadium reopened.
The NFL started its season on Sept. 21 that year and the Jets were on the road the first 2 weeks, and the Giants the first 3. So the football didn’t really overlap with the baseball, but the Giants had to play a Saturday home game in October because the Jets were home on the same weekend.

This will definitely impact the prettiest endzones in the NFL (Rams and Chargers). Zero chance that the SoFi krewe can paint solid coloured endzones with that short of a turnaround time

Why are they building a raised track for the Olympics? Is it able to be raised/lowered? Seems like that would cause issues during the opening/closing ceremonies. How will it impact sight lines to the field events for those in attendance?

They want it to be at the Coliseum for the historic aspect, but the old track from 1984 was taken out in the 90s and brought the seats in closer to the field. The best way to fit it is to raise it to being almost equal with the stands. The sight lines from the first few row are not going to be good.

Didn't realize that (shows how much attention I pay if I watch a USC game). With the NASCAR race and such there I just assumed everything was still there.
From that illustration it looks like everything will be elevated, even the field part in the middle.
