Tim Banks will be Safeties coach, and Porter will coach RBs. Auburn now has three assistants on its staff who were SEC defensive coordinators in 2025 (Coleman Hutzler, Tim Banks, DJ Durkin).

Auburn being actually competently run is Bama's worst nightmare now that Saban is gone.

Tim Banks will be Safeties coach

Tennessee's safety play under Banks was consistently the worst position group on the field for us over the last 5 years.

We don’t have to worry about them ever being competently run.

There is NO way Tim Banks has conned his way into coaching safeties yet again

Not only does he refuse to recruit, his safeties have been the worst in the SEC for basically 5 seasons now

Alex what are you doing man

And one of the worst FBS head coaches imaginable. He turned Memphis into a bottom 10 in the FBS team in just 2 years. He was unbelievably bad.

Larry Porter is a great RBs coach. Guy did great at LSU in his time here.

Tim Banks was a decent dc at times but his abilities as a position coach were dreadful. He coached safeties at UT and it was by far the worst position group on the defense. He is a lousy recruiter too but maybe if isn’t a coordinator it will improve at least I hope it does for your sakes

Not everyone is built to be a head coach, and there is no shame in that. He is a hell of a RB coach, though, and that is what they need him for.
