I swear college football is run by the dumbest people imaginable. Why in the hell do games not start til the 19th?

Would be a pretty big disadvantage to to teams that played in the conference championships.

Bc they want the 2nd round games on New Years. Do you want 18 days or 10 days in between the first & second round?

Also, Tulane & James Madison & Bama just played a game. Why put them at a disadvantage vs an opponent who just had a bye week?

I will say that stretching this shite over a whole month is annoying. Last year I fricking checked out because Bama didn’t make it, so I was unaware of the set up.

When I saw ads for the NC in mid-January, it felt like the shite had dragged on forever.

Who cares. What the hell are they waiting on? This only pushes it more into the nfl playoffs which means we don’t give a shite about college anymore and it actually completely takes away any advantage of having a bye and actually makes that more of a disadvantage

Because they’ve been playing since August. I’d rather have a week off and let teams have a week to get a little healthier and prepared

The NFL is grown arse men that play 17 games and they don’t get a week off to start the playoffs.

18, the teams with byes have to wait longer between games anyways, so the gap between the first and second round shouldn't matter.

I can read just fine. It’s dumb as shite to try and manufacture new yeses anymore. That’s dead. Just start the damn playoffs and run it through

The Rose Bowl isn’t being played before New Years baw

The Rose Bowl Game is a prestigious college football bowl game that takes place annually on New Year's Day. It is known as "The Granddaddy of Them All" and has been a tradition since 1916. The game is part of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association's "America's New Year Celebration" and is the highest attended college football bowl game since 1945.

The biggest current hurdle is the championship games.

And no, that'$ not going away.

Teams won’t even play some starters in the conf champ games after this year likely. The committee showed this year they are completely meaningless if you like your current status

Only people who never played football say this. Indiana clearly wanted to win the Big 10 championship & every game that they play in

Because Indiana is extremely unique in how historically bad they are

Nobody cares about the conf champ tournament in basketball or baseball unless you need it to get in

It won’t take long for nobody to care about football either after this year. The committee nuked it. It’s just a race for the playoffs.

imo the semifinals should be on new years. or if you really wanted round of 8 then....

1) go to 16 with no byes. start saturday after ccg. or move CCG up if need be
2) 3 of the 4 played that day. all central time...11, 3, 7pm start times. Other game is played new years eve. so orange bowl on new years eve.
4) semifinals on saturday after(week +)
5) championship roughly 7-10 days after

you can have 2 other bowl games on new years but nothing during those time slots. all other bowl games go between Christmas an NYE.

or get rid of the bowls, move the CCG up, first round of 16 is the second friday/saturday in decemeber, then week after is quarters, then NYD is semifinals then around Jan 10 is the finals

And injuries seem to be a bigger part of the NFL playoffs.

I mean seriously, what an odd thing to melt about. Your autism is overdrive
