I know this has been a point of contention in the past.

This team including the transfers and freshman have come together on and off the court so well that it has even surprised Kim.

They may be better next year.

This is why we should never politicize these things.

This is interesting. Kim’s never had her teams out of the locker room for the Anthem, wonder what changed.

The only way the National Anthem is political is if you hate America or are a functional retard.

Funny what happens when you get the WOKE out of the system. Thanks Governor Landry!!

Now if only the players would realize this and quit buying into the propaganda.

From what I gather the sound system was acting up and delayed the playing of the Anthem and it had not been played/sung once the ladies came out of the locker room and they basically had a "frick it, we'll do it live" moment.

I don't think CKM's policy has changed, it just shows how people were blowing the whole situation out of proportion all along.

It is very simple. It all depends on when the anthem falls in each school's pregame protocol.

For LSU home games (men AND women), the anthem is done with 10-12 minutes on the pre-game clock, when both LSU and the visitor are back in the locker room after being on the court warming up.

For LSU away games, sometimes the anthem is at 0:00 on the pregame clock, when both teams are completing warmups and right before the intro of the starting lineups. This was the case at UNO yesterday.

Kim hasn't "changed policy". That is the way it has been for YEARS. Our idiot governor made a big deal out of it and passed along misinformation in the process.

I was at the game yesterday. Kudos to our players for rolling along with the anthem, but it was actually an older gentleman who is an event management guy who got it started. There was literally about 20 seconds of silence, then out of nowhere you here a big booming opera-like voice belt out "Oh say can you see" and everyone kinda kept it going. It was pretty cool.

What changed?

It was an ESPN+ game as opposed to a nationally televised game. Unlike the TV affiliates, ESPN played the National Anthem after both teams were out of the locker room. TV affiliates don't give a frick about the National Anthem and schedule it early just to get it out of the way. The problem with that is most teams are still in the locker room.

I was at the game. Crowd was asked rise for the anthem. Players lined up. There was awkward silence for what felt like 5 mins (was probably about 2 minutes ) then the players started and then whole crowd started singing together. It was organic & heartwarming. So much better than what would've been some DJ piped-in anthem instrumental.

Or perhaps you and Governor Landry can use your brains and try to understand that there never was a problem with the system and certainly not a problem with the players.

Perhaps you and Governor Landry can quit trying to keep the job by trying to manufacture a problem where one doesn't exist, and instead focus on doing the job by solving the actual problems that do exist.

Only with Landry who is/was very uninformed on protocol for game and is desperately trying to politicize it for non-Woke cred - only to come out looking like an idiot because he misreads the context badly.

Oh, there are plenty on this board who fit that description as well.

The ones who love to go into every WBB thread and point out how it is horrible and they don't watch it etc. They can't stay away.

Oh, we're all hypocrites, but there are degrees of it and just some more than others.

Look, the board wants to be mad about something - particularly if it can be at the players. Stop ruining it.

It was cool to watch Bella Hines getting into the singing. A lot of the other girls seemed shy. I'm surprised that Flaujae wasn't busting it out like Bella.

A couple of them appeared to not sing a single word of it.
