The 4 Power Conferences merge to create a College Football League

This allows them to agree collectively on an NIL salary cap, finally taming that wild west

Agreements get put in place to stop the current coach poaching arms race among one another

They stop requiring football players to attend classes

They lift the four year eligibility limit (this is already getting stretched upward by players)

This will never happen. It would take the NFL getting involved and they aren't going to do something that could negatively affect their talent farm that is the NCAA.

So going off this year that would be the Big 10, SEC, Big 12 and the AAC.

The egos of the morons who run college sports won't care. They only care about $$$. They believe their college football can be bigger than the NFL.

They will dare the NFL to do something. It will be akin to WCW moving Nitro to Monday Nights to compete directly with WWF

Just like WCW, college football would lose in the end

Do you think the NFL is requiring the players to take classes or limiting how long they can stay in college? They're completely unrelated.

NIL is not the issue. The transfer portal and early signing day being during the conference title week/bowl season is what’s ruined it.

Abolish the early signing period, have a single transfer portal in the spring, and allow NIL to be tied to attendance at a school with the same buyout language coaches and staff has.

If power 4 break away I’m not sure lower level teams will survive

Power 4 is funding these teams and title IX will always be a fly in the ointment

What needs to happen is another split. You’ll basically send the G5 schools back to FCS status, and most of them belong there. Aside from JMU and one or two others, most of these schools have a peak of reaching the Myrtle Beach Bowl.
