Hate him or love him, he sure as shite doesn’t shy away when he is given the opportunity to publicly criticize our douche commissioner. He makes lots of valid points here

The answer is get rid of the conference championship game. They won’t because it’s a money grab.

He’s not wrong. But, money drives all conference decisions. SEC makes plenty of money on conference games - because ESPn owns the SEC.

Is it though? Money for who?

The fact that this is where fan's heads are makes me hate the current mindset around cfb.
Winning the SEC doesn't mean anything now? We're getting to a point where LITERALLY anything but hoisting the natty means you had a shite season.
I hate it, man. Winning the SEC is still a big fricking deal and I wish the system was set up to reward that more.

frick em. Getting beat up is part of it. They have 100 guys on their roster and most of them get paid. Next man up. Fans want to watch SEC games. Not UGA vs Southeast Missouri

People who desire and clamor to see MOAR meaningless athletic contests are weird to me.

I get what you are saying but this is the negative of moving to a 12 team playoff and why I personally am against it. It diminishes the regular season/conf. champ. game I don’t care what anyone says. The greatness of college football was not only watching your team win but it was also watching your rival lose a game and it completely destroy their season. Now Alabama has 3 losses and still might have a chance to win a national championship. That’s dumb.

you have to take his comments in context of a national championship qualification marathon. we all love the games, but the conference championships need to go, especially if the winner doesn't automatically get in. we can go back to the old way of declaring conf. champions.

Essentially, yes, due to the current playoff system.

The CCG was always a money grab.

It has not meant anything since 2011

Sadly, we blew through that point years ago.
This isn’t a fresh take, but it’s all headed toward the super league or whatever you want to call it. The SEC schools will continue to get frustrated with getting left out while inferior schools get in.
Texas is a better team than half the field this year but they’re left out. The top 9 or 10 schools in the SEC will eventually blow it all up to create NFL Jr.

I'm good with it as long as we schedule weaker Non Conference and no SEC Championship game.

There should be a clause for any team that loses a championship game to remain in the top 11 if they were ranked there before the game. The winners should be guaranteed top 4.

Replace the conference championship games with first round home game for 16 team CFP.
