Im just reading media reports here, but is it safe to say that the recruits knew this before hand. Would explain LSU's defensive haul?

that's my theory.... and when coupled with the HC interview that Tulane did just yesterday, it certainly makes you think things are trending that way

You could even say that this could influence offensive side of the ball as well. Recruits looking at the "whole package".

Looks like Baker and Raymond will be staying. Combine that with the DL being told Elijah Robinson is coming who has already likely recruited all of them, this adds up.

Question is how much did Lane offer Baker to stay. I am just assuming he is getting a raise, maybe not. I know rumors were his family didnt want to move again. So maybe that was huge factor in the decision as well.

i can almost guarantee you he's getting a raise out of this... i'm thinking a bump of $500K-$1mil in addition what he's already making... just a guess

Damn that will put him at $3.5 - $4 million / year. Was making $2.5 million this season.

I think you are referring to complementary football.

Thats what I think. He gets bumped to top DC pay or close to it at $3+ million a year.

Baker is destined to be a HC. A couple of years with Kiffin and an NC and he ups his ultimate value and the likelihood that he goes straight to a top school. Or he could peck along at Tulane. Not rocket science. He chose wisely.
