I was thinking about this movie the other day.
The Time Warp is still the only dance I know how to do.

She's had some pretty good vids. During the flurry of KPop Demon Hunter suggested vids, hers came up. Seen a few others, like Men at Work.
If I have a mild gripe is may be the idea she's hearing some of these artists or song 'for the first time'. Music seems to be her profession, so how is she just now becoming aware of some of these groups?
Same goes for a lot of Gen Zers who never heard of anything prior to 2000 or some such. There are top radio stations who crank out nothing but 80's and 90's stuff all the time. We hear 80's songs in the freaking Publix now, because they're so well known across the generations.

Because her profession was classical and opera. Not everything is wrapped around pop and rock music. I’ve known jazz fiends who do not know a thing about rock music. It’s not that far fetched at all

Still seems far fetched. Most Jazz folk are stoners anyway, so they kinda don't count.
But just seems to me that as a young girl interested in music, before she got 'serious' in singing, she'd have heard some of this stuff.
But I get it, super dedicated to the craft as it were. I'm just a tad skeptical when folks say they've never seen / heard something before, so watch their CRAZY reaction!

I’ve watched some of her vids in the past when I was in the early reaction video phase.
She came across as fairly disingenuous. I’m not sure I’ve even heard someone so much into music that has never heard of so many musicians and bands.
I remember her saying she never heard of Chris Cornell, I wouldn’t be surprised she has said, she’s never heard of The Beatles or Elvis or something ridiculous.
ETA: I reacted before reading the thread. I agree with SEK. She has been discussed on tOT before and many shared that opinion.

Was in New Orleans for the Paul McCartney show. Our Lyft driver was chatting with us and asked a general question about what we were doing that night while on the way to Meril.
Told her we were going to see Paul McCartney, she responded with "I'm not familiar", I said he was in the Beatles, same response.... I was floored, and also felt very old.
She grew up in New Orleans East and was late 20s.

I’m telling ya, there’s something odd about those born in the 90’s who collectively don’t know any history.

Yeah, I like her videos too. They're just too long sometimes. She sometimes will listen to the same part of a song like 20 times..
She is also a phenominal opera singer.

I don't know many trained opera singers, but her and Mike Rowe really don't fit the mold of those I would have imagined.
