According to Brett McMurphy...

-Cal vs Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl
-Missouri State vs Arkansas State in the first ever Xbox Bowl
-South Florida vs Old Dominion in the Cure Bowl

I just looked up the Xbox bowl. Apparently it’s played in the indoor stadium at the Cowboys practice facility which seats 12,000.

The other bowls in Frisco have been at the soccer stadium outdoor. As has the FCS game.

Is it annoying or a blessing for the University of Hawaii to have their very own Bowl game?

I mean, unless they're ranked for a P4 Bowl, don't they sorta have to always accept the Hawaii Bowl if they're above .500? Hawaii has played in half of all Hawaii Bowls.

Cal vs Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl.

A lot of sort-of interesting stories:

1. Cal interim HC Nick Rolovich was Timmy Chang's backup at Hawaii, and played a lot of games when Chang got hurt.

2. Rolovich is also an ex-HC at Hawaii, and was Hawaii's HC the last time they played Cal.

3. Cal freshman QB and Hawaii native Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is still big news in Hawaii. Some UH fans bitterly predict that JKS is going to get more local media attention than UH.

This is why this bowl game got arranged so quickly.

We're still optimistic that JKS will stay, and the hire of Tosh Lupoi as HC apparently is not hurting the effort to keep him. We are hoping that we will be able to recruit the best players out of Hawaii while he's here. I think we just signed four seniors out of Hawaii yesterday.

Y’all remember in the 2000’s when folks would see these shite bowls and get excited to watch them?

And now in 2025 they see the and go “fuxkxhdjshcjdbsbd bowls suck!!”

What’s the difference?

Other than now with a playoff we have a shite ton of teams still fighting for a playoff birth late in the regular season and more rivalry games with something real on the line.

Well, there’s a lot more bowls. Also, there’s so many more different media sources rather than watching What’s on TV nowadays.

I like the bowls…but there are few too many bowls. Personally, I’d get rid of the playoffs and four or five bowls games if I was the president of football.

They are also too spread out. Bowl games after January 3rd should be illegal! Between the regular season, conference championships, bowls and playoffs, CFB is overexposed. It’s like MLB having 169 games. People lose interest after a while.

With the playoffs, there is less attention and interest in bowl games.

A lot of the good players stopped playing in the bowl games or transfer. And now it seems like the coaching drama is always impacting bowl games as well.

I hate it when some of the players sit out the bowl games now. Back in the day when your team was playing in a bowl game it was full strength unless there were injuries.

It’s at the star because Toyota stadium is undergoing large renovations

Both Hawaii and Cal have been inconsistent and wildly entertaining at times too!

I hope Hawaii brings the swagger and tries to brawl before, during, and after the game!

That’s beyond sad if true. We are all witness to everything good about college football being absolutely destroyed by money.

Cue the losers complaining about too many bowl games, the same people who will be whining about missing football come April.

The FCS Championship is in Nashville for the next few years b/c of that

My understanding is its eventually expected to return to Frisco once the renovations are completed
