"Oh he locks it down".

Yeah, no. We havent locked anything down in years.

Hope they enjoy watching an rb get hot and then sit on the bench.

If its a recruiting ploy, theyre idiots.

They're just not thinking logically at the moment. All they see is taking a coach from LSU.. Poor guys

Guess Anderson isn’t too worried about Frank.

Frank was a big deal before NIL but average at best as a recruiter since. Now as a rb coach below average. Have at it Ole miss.

He absolutely rotates the backs how he wants. At least he did under BK.

Let’s not get emotional. He is very important for recruiting NOLA and it would hurt for him to go to OM. Would open up the door for Texas, A&M, Bama even more so.

From my quick and highly unscientific metric, LSU actually recruits better without Frank Wilson since 2010.

With Frank: 8.2 average
Without Frank: 6.3 average

Not hating on the guy just saying the numbers aren’t exactly screaming “elite recruiter.”

If Frank leaves, who else is on the new staff with currrent recruiting ties to the La HS coaches?

A bag of cash.

In all seriousness.

The LSU brand + Lane has more recruiting power than we've had in a VERY long time. We do not need that guy.

I think we all agree here.
- We like Frank, and want him to stay
- His connection to NOLA is important
- His on field coaching is not good

The question becomes, are you ok missing on a HS player or two annually from the Nola pipeline because Frank is gone if it means bringing in an elite RB coach in Kevin Smith?

Give me the elite coach all day. He’s not a bad recruiter either.

Why wouldn’t the position coach make that decision?

Probably because personnel changes are decided during the week and the RB coach doesn’t just chime in when a play is being called and say he’s taking out a RB

I see your argument…we MUST have someone on staff with relationships in the NOLA area. We aren’t pulling talent out of Texas the way we once did with the additions of OU and Texas to the SEC. We can’t merely wave a checkbook. Whether it’s Coach O or a few analysts, we need to have boots on the ground

Unless the play is designed around a certain players , Frank subs backs in at his leisure.

When Kiffin’s people start showing up to Louisiana high schools with bags of money, they will quickly have connections as well. Franklin is greater than Frank. No disrespect to Frank, just the truth.

Turns out a bit more money (per Jimmy Ott) was enough to alleviate the family's concerns about Frank potentially not being on staff.

I still think they find some compromise here for him.
