The termite company(Arrow) wants almost 1k to treat my home with the Sentricon system. Anyone know how necessary this treatment is?

Sentricon system is bait stations placed about ten feet apart around the perimeter of your house. They need to be inspected yearly. Can't help you on the cost, had my system installed about twelve years ago.

Depends on the size of your house but if you’re in BR, Armor Pest Control charged me $600 for a 2800 sq ft single story a couple years back. Good dude. Stay away from the big commercial companies. They all suck.

Read the contract. All of the proposed termite bonds that I've seen do not cover damage. You'll pay 100% out of pocket for any termite damage from infestation.

I'm not a fan of self-insurance, but you're better off installing your own treatment system. Best bet is installing sentricon stations and monitoring regularly and regular treatment with bifen xts.

You can only get Sentricon from a pest control company, however. It is the best thing out there per my pest control friend. Other systems require the termites to stumble through the bait or chemical thats placed in the ground. With the sentricon bait station they actively seek it out and carry it with them to the rest of their colony.

I put a system on my house that was about the same cost. and then about $200 a year for renewal. If someone else was $600 for install, I'm going to assume yearly renewal is much higher.

We used DA extermination. Also to add to another comment, I dont think any company is going to accept liability for damage. They will however come terminate anything active if you have a contract with them.

I paid more than that, never again, you can DIY and order the bait and traps.
