You can only get Sentricon from a pest control company, however. It is the best thing out there per my pest control friend. Other systems require the termites to stumble through the bait or chemical thats placed in the ground. With the sentricon bait station they actively seek it out and carry it with them to the rest of their colony.

I put a system on my house that was about the same cost. and then about $200 a year for renewal. If someone else was $600 for install, I'm going to assume yearly renewal is much higher.

We used DA extermination. Also to add to another comment, I dont think any company is going to accept liability for damage. They will however come terminate anything active if you have a contract with them.
Sentricon is the way. A close friend of mine worked for several of our local companies and its the best option there is. Id recommend googling your subject as there are many videos that describe the difference. Sentricon being about 95% effective but the other is a toss up.

I will up vote the Sterns and Foster. Its well worth the high price tag. We purchased the Reserve 2 years ago and its the best purchase we've ever made.

Well, I just got bent over a barrel then having paid $350 for this. I got 2 quotes both of which were within the same range. We even have a cast iron stove with metal vent pipe which I assume must be easier to clean...

In any case, I would recommend buying the cleaning piece on Amazon. I've had it done twice and in both cases (2 different companies) the guys have used a tool similar to the below link by attaching it to a drill to knock the soot down. Then used a shop vac to vacuum it out. Overly simple task and I'm not planning to pay for the service again. Neither company got on the roof even though the service stated "inspection included" which is them looking up into the chimney from the fireplace and saying "looks fine"

What kind of Drip system did you install? I've curiously looking into them.

We were in the same boat. Upgraded with 2 units and duct work for a much more favorable price.
I did this about 2 years ago, we were in the same circumstance. nice wood cabinets but old varnish.

A friend of mine recommended a process to me that worked. Lightly sanding the cabinets to smooth them out, certainly not all the way to bare wood, and then using a bonding primer and then a cabinet paint. It is still a process but it worked well and the paint wont scratch off even if you try.

Bonding Primer
Two different systems indeed. The question back to you is, do you want some mega pure drinking water, or a system that makes all of your water less hard?

I'm from LA but lived in the midwest for many years where water softeners are almost a must because of the hard water. I purchased one and installed myself over a weekend and it did make a big difference though, the water is no where near the same here in Louisiana and IMO it isnt needed. Not sure how Sarasota could be much different. Fun note: make sure this system isn't connected to your garden faucets. Soft water is NOT good for grass/plants.

A buddy of mine has the RO system as well and I've really wanted to get around to installing one of those.
The home we bought in 2021, the sellers put a Terminix Sentricon contract on the property, I received the renewal notice about a year after which was about $450. I put it away and completely forgot about it up until last year. I had another company out for a quote which was $1200 first year and stated $270 renewal. Same product.

Sentricon is the best you can buy. Cost will very with how many bait stations you need which will very with how big your base square footage is. Note that it isn't cheap and will require a contract for protection BUT again, when you compare this product to the others on the market, Sentricon is superior without question. DOW developed the chemical and realized they struck gold. I believe its the only product that brings the product back to the queen.

We hit up a Mattress Firm a month ago and went with a Sterns & Foster which was hybrid memory foam and spring (I think its the luxury Sealy brand). Id recommend it as 1) they were not pushy and were very educational and 2) they have many of the brands already mentioned here where you could test yourself.
I bought an older home a couple of years ago here which contained older gardens. It looks like the intention was to have Monkey Grass borders in most areas however, its spread to take over the St. Aug in many spots. Several square feet of cut monkey grass.

Does anyone have an easy remedy for ridding your lawn of monkey grass? I went after one spot with round-up and then removing the remaining by hand with a hand tiller but its back breaking work. Hoping there's an easier way???
