We were not this excited about Saban. There was a mix.

I was a freshman at LSU in 2004 and the excitement I had was for LSU. Didn’t know shite about how great Nick was going to be.

This is #JustDifferent…

There was a lot of hope with Saban but the run of the mill fan didn't really know anything about him. I was hopeful knowing he had done well at Mich State and had NFL experience.

We look at Lane as a can't miss because of his performance at FAU and OM. It took him quite awhile to rebuild his reputation and prove his worth after his spectacular failures and being a ding dong and leaving Tenn the way he did.

Now there is evidence of his capability and his character has seemed to be much better and this brings excitement and confidence in him.

My memory is that Dinardo actually created more of a buzz with his "Bring Back the Magic" opening speech than Saban did when he was first hired.

People act like Nick made LSU.
Nick was just off of a goofy Shreveport bowl loss to LSU when he arrived in BR.
LSU made Nick Saban, not the reverse.
