If we can’t close Lamar Brown, it doesn’t give me much confidence that we can close any of these

We're fine. Half of our top 30 defense came from the portal. A coaching change will have this class a little thin so we'll go heavy in the portal for this year. Next class we'll pull in a top 5 class and we'll start building. shite doesnt happen overnight but our portal class this year will fill a ton of holes.

So one kids decision leads you to believe our staff cant recruit now? Thats ridiculous man. And I still think Lamar will be a tiger. The doom and gloom runs rampant on this board.

Sounds like a bunch of 12 yr olds not getting their way.Let it play out 1or 2 hs recruits don’t make a team,nobody knows what’s in the minds of 18yr olds.

Don’t throw around the word “Recruit” so loosely. This is not recruiting this is finding out a players number money wise, and seeing if you can get a few boosters to support getting him his bag. Then all the while he is telling other schools what you willing to give him and then coming back to you telling you his other offers. The rest of this who the coaches best fit my needs and who can develop me shite is just hot air, this is business deals the only recruiting that takes place is keying in on players you like and making a run at them hoping you don’t have to spend a bunch of money.

The size of the bag is probably the single biggest factor but I do think these other things still come into play. If one school is offering twice the money that's probably the only factor but as long as the bag is in the ballpark the right fit matters. It matters to the kids you want, anyway.
