Women have turned on Hollywood because they want manly men, feminine women, and romance

Who knew?

he compares what Hollywood keeps using to lure in women, to what women ravenously digest in the form of romance smut.

30 minute video, but makes a solid case

He talks about the general girlboss cinema trend, and says part of the reason women don't care about chick leads, is that they are basically male-coded with boobs.

They sleep around, are dismissive and/or disdainful of the opposite sex, and are hyper violent. What we have been told is effectively "toxic masculinity"

There has been a 50+ year propaganda campaign to try to make woman like "sensitive" men but big surprise, it hasn't worked.

Turns out millions of years of biology is a lot stronger than a few decades of social engineering propaganda.

The biggest red pill on this sorta topic is when you learn that porn featuring violence towards women is more popular with women than with men.

None of the downvotes my post received came from women

Nothing the guy said, would a woman (factory, not after market) disagree with.

Hell, they are the ones buying the smut, but not buying the MCU.

Alright, that is pretty fricking funny.

Just finished it and he isn’t wrong in his summation.

The female girlbosses aren’t female fantasies, they are simply gender swapped male fantasies.

It is a pretty good, and funny, video overall.

Some of the nutjobs on this forum will avoid it because they can’t separate their politics from discussion or thought.

The creator took the time to read the books that he is discussing and he makes very valid points.

my wife complains about this. The strong female lead is either a lesbian or acts like a dude.

This has been the complaint for a very long time, it stems from beta males (those who prefer to let their girlfriend/wife lead) and 3rd/4th wave feminists making up a large section of screenwriters. For that latter group, they don't see that they are the minority among women so they push not only the idea of girlbosses being essentially just women written as men, but they cluster together in echo chambers to assure one another that's really what everyone wants.

I've said this for years. They write a male character and then cast a woman for the part. Over and over, it's the same thing.

Every time a guy "explains" women to me, I think of the wise sages of the Gas N' Sip.

He has his stats mixed up

Among women who regularly consume porn, they are more likely to seek porn involving violence to women (rape/snuff)

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more men regularly consume porn, though.

So as far as raw numbers of searches for violent porn, or even as a raw percent of men versus women (without caveat), men would be higher.

I read the study. People have been misrepresenting it a bit

He isn't "explaining women to you"

He is using what women ravenously consume, and contrasting it with what Hollywood has been trying to cater to them with.

But hey, I get why you need to dismiss it.

wildly.

That was light bondage, iirc.

I could 1000% be wrong. Never read it or watched the films

The most disturbing, if we are being honest, is that Milking book about the chick fricking a cow.

Ana was definitely not a "girlboss" and Christian was extremely dominant.

This one?

Holy shite, nearly 23k reviews on Amazon and 56k on GoodReads

Reminds me of a quote, "women dont watch porn but they sure love to read it."

Yup, that's the one

Really gives insight into why Shape of Water was popular with women.

And why they want the Bear in the woods

Yep.

He is one of those nutjobs I was talking about who can’t separate his political/social views and accept decent commentary for what it is.

I bet he has said, at least once in his life, “you can’t comment on X because you are Y”.

If the OP was wrong, we would see a completely different set of female books at the top of reading lists.

As an aside, my wife reads those Outlander books and, my God, they are full of all kinds of rape and fricked up stuff.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/why-are-so-many-women-searching-for-ultra-violent-porn/

https://www.psypost.org/more-women-than-men-report-being-aroused-by-aggression-in-according-to-study/

quote:

Those statistics make for fairly surprising reading, but are the facts Dr Seth Stephens-Davidowitz, a former Google data scientist, discovered when he was given complete access to PornHub’s search and views data for his upcoming book. “If there is a genre of porn in which violence is perpetrated against a woman, my analysis of the data shows that it almost always appeals disproportionately to women,” he writes.

1 in 20 male searches they categorized as seeking "violent" content
1 in 4 female searches.

And yes, men still consume porn WAY more, but as a % women who do seek out porn are disproportional seeking out more aggressive stuff than men.
