than American citizens? Do they believe they can live in America without assimilating… I don’t remember any group of Americans acting that way.

I don't know many illegal immigrants. I know a good bit of immigrants here legally who are trying hard to pick up English and the general culture. A good part of that is to land better paying jobs, but still... they realize it helps build community afterward.

They don’t assimilate or learn the language because they don’t plan to stay permanently. They plan to retire in their home country. It is a money grab.
