They got their one championship with him but is there just a severe shortage of elite talent in the draft that they couldn't build around him?

How are they gonna get talent in the NBA draft picking in the 20s?

You answered my question, the talent pool for the NBA is shallow.

Somehow you just know Presti will worm his way into a deal as a 3rd party and end up with a future 1st round pick

I know you know what we hate about them is not that they have a war chest… Griff had one too
It’s that they hit on everyone lol

The Lakers will get him and a 1st round pick for a 2nd round pick in 2035.
The NBA will make that happen.............just like the Doncic trade.
F the NBA!

Presti has players on just about every team. He is good at talent but also navigating cap and trade deals. I figured after KD left we were done for a few decades but he just went in deep.

If I'm Presti, I have a potential 2-peat and 3-peat dynasty WITHOUT making any moves right now. They have the same team this year & next year without losing any of their top 10 players.
However, in 2027, that is when they enter an era of losing role players:
Isaiah Hartenstein
Lu Dort
Cason Wallace
They'll likely get rid of Caruso soon (10th in minutes played, will be 32 this year) and use that money to pay one of Wallace or Hartenstein (personally I think Hartenstein -- they don't have a replacement).
They'll likely keep Wallace (2nd in minutes & currently 22) over Dort (6th in minutes & currently 26 and will be 27 this year).
Presti did this right and their drafting ability was ABSURD with cost controlled assets (2nd rounders!)

Lu Dort is their Draymond though
