Yep watched it last night, real good insight into everything. Funny that Landry talked him out of going to Auburn. Also his comments about his decision to leave for USC were very telling. Could replace Ole Miss with Tenn and USC with LSU in that scenario. He definitely seems like a changed man (for the most part…
). Still doesn’t seem real yet. We finally got the coach that can drive and maintain the Ferrari.

There’s a decent podcast he did with Theo Von too, although not as football centric. I’m a big believer in “this time is different” syndrome. But Lane really does seem changed. I think he would leave us for an NFL coaching job if offered, but he’d have to be successful to get there, so I wouldn’t be mad.

It honestly made me like the man when it came out when I had no idea he was coming to lsu. Very likable guy it seems now that he’s older. If we can hold on to him this could be another golden era. People also forget he was canned at USC. I would like to know if it were up to him would he have stayed there a long time or not.

I've been wanting to watch this, but didn't want to subscribe. Can you pay a one time fee to watch?

In retrospect, the whole documentary was a PR stunt by Kiffin to fix his rep because he was looking to leave Ole Miss. It obviously worked. They were supposed to be middle of the pack this year, only two returning starters. Looking at 7-5 or 8-4, then gone. He had no idea leaving would be this controversial. He had it all set up.

Not sure if this is true but I found a tv guide site that says the show will air again on ESPNU Dec 11th at 5 am….then ESPN2 Dec 16th at midnight.

Yep, I thoroughly enjoyed watching his last game in person in the Superdome.
I like to call him Coach L.

Hell, I would also be worried if Alabama or Texas opened in 4 yrs, but for him to even be considered for amy of those he would have to uber successful. And while Im not sure he has changed in a job shopping way, he has definitely changed as a coach. He still occasionally does mind boggling 4th down things, but they are a lot less frequent and he has done a 180 on being conscious of the need of a balanced attack as well as fielding a strong defense.

I don’t see either of those places as more desirable, but that’s just me. Saban said that Lane will go where he can get the best players. Lane is on the record saying Saban won so much primarily because he got the best players. It is easier to recruit players at LSU given the lack of in state competition. Perhaps only Ohio State has it easier. There’s nothing inherently more appealing about Bama or Texas and Lane isn’t leaving for more money.
