I remember when we got Kelly the initial reaction was he’s a good coach who could win here but fit was questionable. Recruits didn’t seem fired up about him being hired but respected his resume.

Us getting Kiffin is a whole different feel. Recruits are energized , the fanbase is energized. Everyone seems to be acknowledging that the fit is perfect. I think the entire SEC realizes how massive Kiffin at a school like LSU will be moving forward .

Don't disagree. Just need to keep Baker and as many of the D players as possible. Throw some bank at Baker.

Most were smart enough to know Kelly was a desperation hire.

Kelly came from nowhere. There were only a few people all in on Kelly.

Most everyone else was like "Okay, I guess we'll see"

Well yeah. Big time.

Hated the BK hire, but was talked into it. Was actually surprised there wasn't more pushback to it.

It's nice to have a HC lockdown one side of the ball.

Just stop. >95% of this board loved the hire and it was more than that after a 10 win 2022. “The adults are in charge now” were the slogan of this place for the first year.

But yet we were somehow the villain in both instances. Funny how that works.

I’m glad we have a character leading our football program again. Kiffin is a brand himself in college football

Very few of us wanted a 60 year old dude with a 10 year contract.

I thank God every day for LSU hiring him away… imagine 12 years with that ballistic ignorant putz. LSU prudently saw through the smoke.

Peeking over the fence and in… the “largess” of the kelly hire got wobbly early. imo Among the first cracks in the LSU/kelly honeymoon started with his punting Tommy Moffitt. (He should be on someone’s speed dial). That didn’t take too long. Then the fake accent at the hoop game made a lot of people want to punch him… then his dancing with recruits video… He’s just a mediocre jackass that failed upwards. His agent, Armstrong, should never be trusted again on anything. Armstrong excels at using espn relationships to float false NFL/other interest rumors to drive up $. Someone should ask him, “where’s all the nfl interest in kelly? You lying sack of crap.”

NIL works huge in Kiffin’s favor. He’ll hit the ground running. There should be no gaps come Aug/Sept.
This is bigger because you removed a football cancer and gained an experienced guy who’s hitting his coaching stride… I’m guessing he sees this as a final career college move. He’s not going backwards from LSU.

Very few? LOL. Go back and read the board after the hire. And then again after the Bama game. He was the smartest guy in the room and it was only a matter of time until we won a title with him.

And if the 60 yr old fricktard had won 10 games a year like he did that year, no one would give a shite how old he was or how much money he made.

Its all hindsight

Kiffin is SEC and Kelly was not. Big difference.
