Sounds like we have our DC one more season. His contract is up in 2026. I’d expect LSU to make an extension offer now that the Lane sweepstakes is done, but I don’t expect Baker to accept. He’s gonna take a HC offer after next season and he should.

And just a side note for those lobbying for Frank… his HC record is 26-40. I’d love him to be on the staff for recruiting purposes, but no way would he get the LSU HC job.

I don’t think so. If he waits one more season, he can be the HC of a major SEC player instead of Tulane.

An extension wouldn't guarantee Baker wouldn't take a HC position since the new school is likely to pay it. Might as well extend him another year for recruiting.

People just keep assuming this as if it’s fact. He will be a candidate, but Tulane hired another G5 head coach last time around. There are several good ones to choose from in this cycle, including Charles Huff just up the road at Southern Miss.

Corey Raymond should retire at LSU and I don't give a shite who the head coach is.

if Tulane gets Chesney, they will have fricked around and hired a better coach than the one that just chose to leave them...

for a program to "hit" on 3 coaching hires in a row like that, that would be impressive

Bob Chesney is a great hire.

Unless Penn State pulls someone unexpected, they are supposedly considering Chesney, as well.

Best coach available hands down. Guy has won convincingly everywhere he’s been from DIII to JM. At 48, he looks like he’s 25 and is ready to make the jump.

WTF is PSU thinking not snatching him up? He’s a Pa. native and his chops were cut on the East Coast, but now his price has skyrocketed as UCLA and a bunch of others are looking to throw a bag at him.
