His defenses can be suspect. He's the one I didn't want coming with Lane and now he's rumored to be their permanent HC

He was never coming here, although he is from here. His wife is a real problem for him, supposedly banned from the Bama facilities, and her family is from Oxford, and are huge donors for OM. Oxford is safe haven for her, so Golding was never coming here.

I mentioned this as well. But after looking into it, he was Kiffin's Co-D coodrdinator in Oxford in 2020-2021 and was let go. Don't know how their relationship is for him to come to LSU with Kiffin

Yeah. He’s obviously trying to maintain some continuity, but this also reeks of desperation to avoid embarrassment since the coaching carousel has emptied.
