I don't understand the rumor of the Lane-to-offensive staff ultimatum

I'd think he'd want to let them coach the team in the CFP while also knowing they are heading to LSU (and recruiting at the same time).

I suspect Carter told Lane that no coaches that go with him are allowed to keep coaching there. It's GTFO day. That seems stupid if you want any chance in the CFP.

It’s because Early Signing Day is Wednesday, and he wants to lock down the recruiting class for his current team. If he’s not on the sidelines, that’s no longer his team or his concern.

The got damn offense needs to be overhauled and it's early NSD where most recruits sign. LSU needs to hit the ground running immediately. I'm pretty sure his staff and LSU's staff has a list of players they are looking at for the portal too.

That’s a great question, I’m not going to talk about anything other than our off-season goals and preparing for 2026

Lane later completely debunked this claim in his interview with Marty....

He said during his interview with ESPN before boarding his plane to BR that the rumor was false and he would never do it. Could be lying, I have no clue.

Lane was going to say everything to paint himself in the best light.

Ole Miss probably told any coach that was leaving to go now. It sounds sexier to paint Lane as the bad man.

This seems like Ole Miss fan fiction.

Just like Golding telling Lane to kick rocks last night and that the office was no longer his.

Golding should be thanking Lane for the untimely leaving. He wouldn’t be head coach without it.

Ole Miss is a nice, quaint Biff and Muffin school that got played, acted amateurish, and is now hanging on for dear life. Their program got set back years with Kiffin's departure .
