This is some mental gymnastics to think that would've made Deboer head to Penn State. Bama probably wouldn't fire him anyway because they have literally no options right now for coaches that would satisfy them. Don't say Kiffin.
Penn State is a rich college. What this amounts to is it's getting harder and harder for dumpster fire programs even with big money to move coaches in NIL era now. Those coaches see they can win anywhere now so it gives less incentive to jump to a dumpster fire. This is the problem all these universities are running into right now.

I just can’t see any premier SEC coach taking a Big 10 job save some connection to the school.
