Friday Night Lights Question (spoilers)

what happend between season 2 and 3? i just finished season 2 and started season 3. seems like a lot changed between seasons. i read somewhere that season 2 was cut from 22 to 15 episodes but i dont know if that was true.
in season 3 lyla and tim are together to start off episode 1 and tami is principal. when did all of this happen??

It happens with only a quick explanation in the first episode. We are just left to assume that Layla broke up with the Christian radio host, Santiago moved to a different town, and Coach Taylor's wife somehow went from being the guidance counselor to the principal.
They also show a quick scene where Smash injures his knee in an early round playoff game, and the team loses without his presence.

i was saying the same thing about street right before the preview for tonights episode came up and there he was.
but i am the same as you, i feel like i missed a couple episodes between the seasons. probably because i have not watched in a long time.
he was the guy that got out of prison/juvi and lyla helped him out with a place to stay and a job with her dad and got him into school and playing football.

Ahhh Yes I remember now....maybe Buddy caught him bagging his daughter and told him to hit the Road. At least thats what I hope happened.

Also Coach Taylor's baby disappears in this season, and that was one of the main reasons he left Texas Tech to come back home and help
